Day 176 - Playdough

DH's job has excellent benefits.  One we particularly enjoy is significantly subsidized in-home childcare.  It has a limited amount of hours per year but we find it very helpful when I need to go to the doctor for myself or for one of the kids.  Rather than DH coming home from work in the middle of the day, a caregiver comes to the house and I don't have to take 4 little girls to an appointment.

Earlier this week we used this great benefit, and for the first time had a not-so-great sitter.  She was nice enough but she let DD#3 play with playdough and it ended up all over the table, the kitchen floor, the carpet in the family room and even down the hall in the office carpet.  It was all rolled into tiny pellets of mixed colors.  After a large clean-up job in which 95% of the playdough was thrown out because it was completely dry, I also decided to throw out a bunch of the little jars the playdough has arrived in over the years.  I was surprised to find these are NOT stamped as recyclable.  Bummer.

I think I'll have to restock our playdough supply soon.  Good thing DD#3's birthday is just a few days away.  I was having trouble thinking of what to get her that won't add to the clutter and that's she'll enjoy.  Fresh playdough is a perfect solution.  I'll just a get a 4 pack - let's keep it simple!
